Unbelievably Progressive Fitness is going to be 10 years old next week and that falls at the same time we opened The Unit 1 year ago.  To celebrate both of these landmark birthdays we are having an open evening at The Unit.

We would love11865274_10152909017246249_314723799_o for you to join us for this occasion on Monday 26th September, 18CS_logo_support00 – 2030 here at The Unit.

This event is free to attend, all you need to do is register your place online so we know how many people to plan for! Everyone who comes will be entered in to a draw to win membership at both The Unit and Boot Camp.

Come down and try out some challenges we will have set out such as Beat The Trainer, Yulia’s Yoga challenge and a #22 Press up challenge.  Plus we will have Nurture Your Body giving out advice and 15 min massages to anyone who needs them.  We will be raising money on the night for Combat Stress too so please bring any spare change you have for donations and for the silent auction!  So just sign up today and let us you know you’re coming.  If you need more persuading then there will be some bubbly after the challenges too…after all it is a celebration!

We look forward to seeing you on Monday 26th from 1800!

Progressive Fitness Summer Event

Most people are getting ready for summer and thinking about the beach and getting as lean as possible. But maybe that’s not your thing or you aren’t going away this summer. So why not join us for our Summer Fitness Event. Make this a challenge that you aim for!

Every Summer we have some kind of event for our Progressive Fitness Community and friends. So on September the 3rd we have booked out an awesome outdoor training facility.

This is a fantastic place with all of the obstacles and challenges you would expect to see at an obstacle/assault course event such as Nuts or Judgement Day.

We will work with two coaches on techniques for tackling tricky obstacles, then go through some team tasks and finish off with a team race through the course.

We will provide medals and a finisher goody bags! The cost will be £20pp and you will be able to pay via either of our apps.

It should be a really fun morning, a challenge and technique practise for seasoned race goers but also a brilliant starting point for someone who wants to build the confidence to tackle their first obstacle race.

Once we have finished we can hang around for some food and drinks before heading back to Reading. We will also plan a drinks event in Reading for that evening.

Take a look at the centre by clicking below:

If you’re not already part of our Unit or Boot Camps then get in touch ASAP as you soon can be and would be more than welcome to events like these.

A great success at the weekend for our Endure24 teams

This is an event that is seriously taxing on the body all of our teams did amazingly well and I’m really proud of every single person who took part.

See our facebook page for more photos and details of our weekend efforts.
We had a mixed team of 8 Boot Campers and Unit members who all made a huge team effort of at least 3 x 5 mile laps each. I was in the men’s team with trainer Phil Mace, boot campers and unit members all did amazingly well. Bearing in mind that we are not a running club and focus on all elements of fitness we ended up coming 7th out of 33 teams – and we weren’t being competitive!

The ladies team of 5 each putting in 30 miles each were awesome coming 8th. Three lady solo runners all covered over 40 miles.

Well done to all who took part.

And Baby Came Too

Meet Elona, one of our clients at The Progressive Fitness Unit. She struggled to get child care today for her PT session. Rather than cancel we told her to bring Zander along and see how it went with him there. He actually laughed at her a few times and I got a workout swinging him in that chair!
My point? No excuses here at the Unit. We would rather our clients train than miss a session to reasons like this. Time is precious especially to parents with young kids.

Finishing Touches

As we get nearer to our Opening Day event on 26th September, we are enjoying putting all the finishing touches in place at the gym. This week a friend of ours, Tom Baker, visited The Unit to spray us an amazing mural. He took our vague concept and created this fantastic design for us.

Watching him turn it in to the work of art that it is, was a special experience. It really has personalised our venue and hopefully some of the words will inspire our clients to keep going when training gets tough. The picture incorporates two of the exercises that we hope people will be able to achieve with us – pull ups and good boxing form!

You really need to see it up close to see all the detail that has gone in to it – come and have a visit to check it out. You can register for the Opening Event here  Register Here
